Schwagstock is Approaching

I haven't missed a weekend under the stars with the Schwag in two years, and i am pumped that May 26-28 is quickly approaching. Camp Zoe is a small slice of heaven to me and mine. I will crawl there if i have to. Every time i have to find the band members of teh Schwag and stop them to shake their hand and say my thanks and appreciation. I can't wait to do it again all summer long. To "The Hill" : We'll be there soon.

Keller Williams Sighting!

Keller Williams played last Saturday 4/21, at the Blue Note in Columbia, Missouri. I was told all about it from a friend who said, "Man, I was so close to Keller, i could've touched him." Keller Williams, a modern-day virtuoso of many instruments, uses louping to make his music. He can play a band's worth of instruments all by himself on stage. I got to experience KW for the first time last summer at Schwagstock, and he is phenomenal.

Did You Forget Us Dave???

The Dave Matthews Band announced its tour dates recently, and no shows for the mid-west were scheduled. Only on the coasts in the U.S. Being an avid DMB fan, I am shocked that i won't be enjoying a night or two under the stars at UMB, or whatever it's called now. I haven't missed a show in St. Louis in 5 years, and now all I have this summer is my Dave collection on my computer, that is 7 1/2 days long. I hope to run into you next summer DMB.

Phish-ing Around the Room

Where would we be without Phish??? The fine group who picked up where Jerry and the Dead left off. Phish was formed in 1983 by Trey Anastasio, Jeff Holdsworth, Mike Gordon, and Jon Fishman. They never recieved much radio play, but still had a large "word-of-mouth" following. Phish never played the same songs, each night was a different set list, and the songs themselves were varied. Phish, like the Dead, exhibited phenomenal improvisation talent. It was not until 1993 that they started playing amphitheaters, and in 1995, they gained more attention with the passing of Jerry Garcia, and the end of the Dead. Phish played until 2004, but still live on on the cassette tapes and MP3 files shared by the fans.

The Grateful Dead

This is one of the best bands in the history of American Rock. They were formed in San Fransisco in 1965. The band was known for its unique and eclectic songwriting style—which fused elements of rock, folk music, bluegrass, blues, country, jazz, psychedelia, and gospel- and for live performances of long musical improvisation. The Grateful Dead toured regularly around the USA from the winter of 1965 until July 9, 1995.

Peyton Manning & Colts Win Super Bowl XLI

The Colts defeated the Bears 29-17, on Sunday February 5, 2007. Peyton Manning was the game's MVP (25-38, 247 yds., 1TD, 1INT) "Peyton is a tremendous player, a great leader," Dungy said. "He prepares, he works, does everything you can do to win games and lead your team. If people think he needed to win a Super Bowl, that is just wrong. This guy is a Hall of Fame player and one of the greatest ever to play."
